Description of the Action

In our Department, all employees collect waste that can be reused, especially those products with material that take long to destroy and are of a great harm to the environment, mainly plastic.  Such products are:  plastic bottles, detergent bottles, broken accessories, decorated glass, cardboard boxes and other similarities.   Other material we use include, jewellery, garments, bags, pieces of cardboard, paper boxes, unused nail polishes and others.

With this material Ms Agius will produce artistic features made by these products.  The intention is that from the reusable waste used by all employees, we create beauty in the offices and the Department itself and generate a spectacular environment.

Ms Agius has been experimenting for years with many mediums at an artistic level but recently she has been experimenting with plastic bottles as when modified the plastic creates a beautiful effect and through her imagination she creates something out of it.  On a piece of cardboard paper made of recycled boxes, she creates a piece of art and instead of using the medium of paint,  she makes use of the reused plastic and other reused materials producing a collage effect.  For each project she uses an average of 20 plastic bottles all in different colours.  She treats each project individually and uses her imagination and artistic eye to create a piece of art with value.  Since, she loves nature and has great appreciation to the environment her arts involve mainly the beauty of nature, especially flowers, as she thinks that life would be naked without flowers as their colours and the sense of smell play an important role in the beauty of nature

The main intention, that through waste and the beauty of nature, her arts will show the general public who visits our Department, how to change the perception of waste and instead bring appreciation to nature and all other environments, being our homes, schools and workplaces.

Art Perspective from a Waste Point of View

Its originality and the beautiful art created through reused waste, we may encourage others to convert plastic and other waste into art.

A lasting impact and follow-up

A piece of art will never be destroyed so the art will remain in the offices, generated from one generation to the other.

Also, the Department through these arts will generate interest to the general public visiting our Department, which mainly involve of other Public Officers and Economic Operators.  Through these arts we will be able to explain how it is made and it will definitely create enthusiasm to others to do similar projects back in their offices.
