Training Opportunities

 

The Department of Contracts in conjunction with the Institute for Public Service (IPS), organises various types of training.  The training covers procurement in general; procurement regulations; whilst another course organised by IPS with the assistance of the Department of Contracts leads to a Diploma in Procurement and Supplies.  With the introduction of the electronic Public Procurement System (ePPS), the Government of Malta's electronic procurement portal, training is provided on ePPS to both Contracting Authorities' and Economic Operators' employees.  For further information regarding the Diploma in Procurement and Supplies, please click the link below:

Contracting Authorities' Employees

The training course organised for Contracting Authorities' employees is spread over three (3) half days, these are usually from Monday to Wednesday between 09:00-12:30hrs and covers the complete lifecycle of a tender.  Those CA employees who are interested in attending this course are to contact the Mr Oreste Cassar, Department of Contracts by email on:

Economic Operators' Employees
 
On the other hand, the training workshop organised for the Economic Operators' employees is usually organised on a Friday which starts at 09:00 and can last between 3:00 and 3:30hrs.  The workshop covers among other things; the portal interface, searching for information, the usage of the Tender Preparation Tool (TPT) and the eventual uploading of the tender package.  Those EO employees interested in attending this workshop are to contact the Department by email on:

Currently, training to public employees on Public Procurement Regulations and Procedures is being organised in conjunction with IPS.  The following, are the current courses being offered:

Past Training
 
On 12, 14, 18, 19 and 25 May 2015, Mr A Cachia, Director General (Contracts), delivered training on Public Procurement Regulations and Procedures to public service employees.  This training was organised with the assistance of CDRT.
 
On 04 and 07 May 2015, Mr A Cachia, Director General (Contracts) delivered training to public employees for the training session titled: Procurement by Contracting Authorities.  This trainng was organised with the assistance of CDRT.
 
On 27 April 2015, Mr A Cachia, Director General (Contracts) participated in the Discussion with Gozitan Small and Medium Enterprises, Public Service for the SMEs.

On  24  April  2015,    Mr   A   Cachia,   Director   General   (Contracts);    Mr   O   Cassar,   Director   (Administration); Ms L Mangion Duca, Director (Policy Development and Programme Implementation) and Ms J Gili, Director (Operations) delivered presentations during the Seminar on Procurement Regulations and Policies. 

 
On 02 March 2015, Mr A Cachia, Director General (Contracts) delivered training on Procurement Regulations to prospective candidates of Local Council Elections which are being held in April 2015.
