The Department of Contracts falls within the portfolio of the Ministry for Finance (MFIN). The principal mission of the Department is to have the necessary administrative structures in place so that public procurement is carried out on the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and equal treatment between economic operators. The aims, objectives and responsibilities of the Department are set out in the Public Procurement Regulations, Subsidiary Legislation 601.03.
